Two councils on aging share the south

Bennington and Rutland counties are served by the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging, which has its Bennington office at 160 Benmont Avenue, Suite 90, at 802-442-5436.

Windham County is served by Senior Solutions, which is based in Springfield and took that name in 2011.

The Southwestern council sponsors community meals at public sites across Bennington and Rutland counties, with suggested donations of $3.50 to $7.00, free to anyone 60 or over and to a spouse of any age.

Examples are the Godnick Adult Center in Rutland on Monday and Thursday and the Manchester Community Library on Tuesday and Thursday.
