No. Averages can hide provider, schedule and care-level differences. Enter the hourly rate and community charges you want to test, then replace them with written provider estimates.
Does the result show what Medicare or Medicaid will pay?
No. The result is a gross planning scenario, not a coverage decision. Confirm Medicare, Choices for Care, insurance or veterans eligibility with the responsible source.
Why does the monthly home-care calculation use 52 weeks divided by 12?
That conversion reflects an average month of approximately 4.33 weeks. Multiplying a weekly schedule by four would understate many annualized monthly comparisons.
What costs should we add?
For home care, consider minimum shifts, weekends, travel and continuing household costs. For a community, consider assessed care, one-time fees, transportation, laundry, supplies and likely reassessment changes.
