Senior centers, transit and mental-health support in Orange County
The county is served by Tri-Valley Transit's Orange and North Windsor region, which offers rides to medical appointments, senior meal sites, shopping and social activities, with demand-response rides for Medicaid transportation and for older adults and people with disabilities; Senior Solutions' resource page describes the free rides for people over 60 and those with disabilities when no other transportation is available in the household.
The Clara Martin Center, a community mental health agency in Randolph, provides emergency services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, on site or elsewhere in the community, at (800) 639-6360; it began as an alternative to placing people at the state hospital.
Gifford and the county's home health agency
Gifford Medical Center is a critical access hospital with 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient services, diagnostic imaging, surgery and rehabilitation.
The county's one nursing home, Menig Nursing Home, is in Randolph Center, about three and a half miles from it.

The senior centre at 6 Hale Street in Randolph serves Randolph, Braintree and Brookfield.
It delivers Meals on Wheels, serves lunch at noon, and runs daily activities such as cribbage, bingo, mahjong and rock painting; it is open Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm and closed on Fridays.
The Orange East Senior Center at 176 Waits River Road in Bradford is open Monday to Friday.
