St.
Johnsbury's senior gathering place is the Good Living Senior Center, which welcomes all seniors in the Northeast Kingdom to any of its weekly activities and trips, with a monthly newsletter and a calendar of upcoming events.
It relies on donations, gifts of supplies and volunteers.
Because the Northeast Kingdom covers three counties, a senior in Danville or Lyndonville who wants company can use it without any residence test, and the Council on Aging's Helpline, 1-800-642-5119, can direct callers to the meal site nearest their town.
Rides through Rural Community Transportation and the O&D programme
The Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging works with Rural Community Transportation, local taxi services and volunteers to help older adults and people with disabilities get where they need to go.
Through its Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities programme an eligible rider can schedule up to four medical trips and two shopping or pharmacy trips a month.
Rural Community Transportation also runs fare-free microtransit in Newport, Derby and Derby Line, in the neighbouring county.

Caledonia Home Health Care and Hospice is the Medicare- and Medicaid-certified home care and hospice division of Northern Counties Health Care, serving Caledonia and southern Essex counties from St.
Johnsbury.
