The county's public transit provider is Tri-Valley Transit, formerly the Addison County Transit Resources.
Its Dial-A-Ride programme is free for riders aged 60 or over, or with an ADA disability, and rides are provided by volunteer community drivers or on wheelchair-accessible buses when necessary.
Transport goes to senior meal sites and to medical, employment and social appointments, errands and shopping.

Home health and hospice
Addison County Home Health and Hospice was founded in 1968 by a group of county residents to fill an unmet need for community-based professional home care.
It provides skilled nursing, rehabilitation, medical social work, home health aides and a hospice and palliative care programme.
Its office is open from 8 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays, with a nurse on call around the clock after hours, on weekends and on holidays through a live answering service at 802-388-7259.
Porter Medical Center in Middlebury is the county's hospital and Helen Porter Rehabilitation and Nursing is its one nursing home.
